"Restoring Mindful Movement"
About Boutique Physio.
Boutique Physio may be newly formed, but is certainly not new to the St Louis area. Boutique Physio is the next step of founder, Joanne Macza, PT, OCS, Cert. MDT, CKTP in her continued approach to combine the highest quality of manual based physical therapy to optimize one's mechanics of movement and activity in a nurturing and serene environment.
With 25 years of unprecedented experience, including the developing and managing of St Louis' number-one-rated Physical Therapy clinic for the past three years, a recent sell-out by corporate ownership to a hospital-based practice provided Joanne the opportunity to open her own practice.
Boutique Physio's core competency centers on identifying the root cause of a patient's issue to treat the source- and not just the symptoms- in a one-on-one patient-centered practice. Opening this practice has afforded Joanne the autonomy to continue to provide her patients with the highest level of service and commitment.
Our Approach.
Boutique Physio is Patient-Centered and equates to a small company offering highly specialized services. Our treatment approach and philosophy is based on providing personalized manual therapy services as part of our comprehensive analysis of your whole body to identify the root cause of your pain, or your dysfunction, or whatever issue you feel is holding you back from achieving your health and wellness goals.
Our integrated treatment process melds evaluation and treatment whereby we combine mechanical mobilization, neuromuscular facilitation, and motor movement retraining. This means we help you enhance and use the correct coordination of muscles to maximize strength. This is what we mean by optimizing one’s mechanics for more efficient movement.
Our Method.
Our Physical Therapy Method is not just exercise. With our specialized manual approach, we mechanically restore joint movement in order to retrain your body’s movement patterns using specific activation exercises to maximize automatic reinforcement. This retraining process involves activating the correct muscles at the correct time in a sequence so that your body works automatically.
Our method begins with mechanical enhancement to properly achieve core activation. The core is like a battery for stabilization in the body which needs to be reactivated and replenished frequently during the retraining phase when there is an injury, dysfunction or when your training has plateaued in order to provide efficient coordinated movements which are required for functional and physical activity.
The retraining process begins with manually correcting deficient movement patterns, followed by activating the core, and then progressing by engaging additional muscles in a coordinated manner to create this automated response.
Our unique method also incorporates the critical component, psychological retraining “brain training” as part of our physical retraining process to achieve the mind-body connection which achieves long term automatic efficiency.
